Lee Jones' Rider Profile
|
Lee Jones was born on 9th May 1980 in his home town of Elton Nr Chester. Lee will be known to a lot of people for his many Moto x achievements. He started racing at the tender age of 9 on a 1987 YZ80 machine. Over the next ten years he won lots of Club level Championships, going on to be a top schoolboy national rider.
Lee was the Dragons champion for 5 consecutive years and amazingly was also the champion from 1993 to 1997 for Cheshire NW Club, Vale of Rossendale Club and Newton le Willows Club. This stunning run of consistent form gave Lee a top ten national status. He also obtained the title for Lancashire Youth Grand National and Vale of Rossendale Classic Champion.
Lee stopped racing in 1998 at the age of 18 years due to a bad injury and at that time he had work commitments. He is now a Plasterer and Tiler but still loving the thrill of the motorcycle industry, his father asked if he would like to have a go at Supermoto, he did not need to ask Lee twice, so it was back again racing the sport in which he so loved before.
Backed by Dave Clarke Racing on a Husaberg he finished 5th in the Nora Open Class in his first year back at racing, then 3rd in the British Championship in 2006. Lee has met some old friends and made new ones in the Supemoto field and would really like to thank all personnel that have helped him on his way.
