AMCA 6/7/08

AMCA AMCA

This weeks race meeting came courtesy of Blackpool mx club, the track was in brilliant condition as practise got under way but then the weather took a turn for the worst, rain, thunder and lightening and its supposed to be July! Track conditions deteriorated as the day went on making racing conditions difficult to say the least.

The Rocket centre had two riders competing at this meeting Lee Payne and Joe Entwistle, Lee rode in the mx2 experts and Joe in the mx2 seniors. In the mx2 experts Lee had a great first race as he led the race from the first lap to take the chequered flag with easy,  but in race two track conditions worsened and Lee took a tumble as he came over the table top, he finished in seventh place. In race three following a team discussion Lee chose not to ride due to the weather conditions. The overall win went to Michael Reynolds, Jake Farnell in second, Lewis Arrowsmith, in third, Alex Hefferon in fourth and Rocket rider Lee with the overall fifth place.

The overall race positions in the mx1 experts where Dave Wright with the overall win, Aaron Crowder in second, Sean Eckersley in third, Matthew Williamson in fourth and Peter Dolton with the overall fifth place.

Joe represented the team in the mx2 seniors, race one saw Joe saying hello to the muddy track as his bike skidded out on a bend. Just as Joe was due out in his second race the thunder and lightening arrived and he too decided not to ride due to the weather conditions. The overall win went to Glen Cocker, Anthony Hartley in second, Jack Gotts in third, Gareth Harvey in fourth and Lewis Hart in fifth place.

Next weeks race meeting will take place at Eskham House farm as Preston hold their third meeting of the season please note camping is not allowed at this event.

The Rocket Centre parts van and the team will not be at this event due to the Rocket Centre open day on Saturday 12th July. Good luck to Lee Payne as he is off representing the Rocket team at the championships but his team mates will be at the open day for you to meet. The team will bring along their bikes for you to view, but what colour will they be? The activities kick off about 10am with plenty of fun for the whole family, so get yourself to the Rocket Centre this coming Saturday, meet the team and tell us what you think of the team bikes.
