AMCA 27/7/08

Tameside mx club held their second race meeting of the season at Brogden Hall farm, the club had prepared the track well prior to racing and ensured the water tanker was on hand to keep the track watered. As Lee Payne was competing at the IMBA's the Rocket team had three riders representing the team at this meeting Lee Buck, Dave"Flash"Parrington and Joe Entwistle. Rob Clitheroe will be out of action for a while as he under went surgery last week, we all wish him a full and speedy recovery.

Lee Buck was still carrying an injury he picked up at last weeks meeting so he decided to concentrate on just one of the expert races, the mx1 experts. Lee had a good start to all three of his races, race one saw Lee take fourth place and then finish in fifth position in his second race.  A brilliant third race for Lee saw him hold on to second place from the start gate to the finishing flag to take the overall third place trophy. Rossendale club members took the top three positions with Dave Wright taking the overall win, Matthew Williamson in second and Rocket rider Lee Buck in third place.

In the mx2 experts Michael Reynolds took the overall win, with Shaun Scivens in second and Jake Farnell with the third place trophy.

Joe and Dave represented the team in the mx2 senior race, Dave had good starts to his first two races but decided to become closer acquainted with the track and hit the dirt over the far side in both his races. Race three saw Dave have a brilliant ride as he made his way from the back of the pack to finish in fourth place. Joe had a good days racing as he took third place in race one and  fourth place in race two. Race three saw Joe showing some excellent riding skills as he took the chequered flag in a well deserved second place securing the overall third place trophy. The overall win went to Kyle Platt, Philip Moorcroft in second and Rocket rider Joe in third place.
