AMCA 18-7-10 Rossendale
This week’s racing came courtesy of Rossendale MX club as they hosted the first round of the North West championship. Although Rossendale’s very own Monster Energy girl Davina or was that Dave?? failed to make an appearance, the same could not be said for the rain.
Unfortunately the adverse weather conditions in the afternoon meant the racing had to be cut to just two blocks. MX 2 experts kicked off the day’s racing with a decent number of riders all eager for the hole shot. Young Ryan Crowder had two excellent races taking the chequered flag in second place to claim the overall second place trophy. Dave “Flash” Parrington had a good day’s racing and managed not to knock himself out like last week, to finish eight in race one and sixth in race two.
Sam Entwistle also had a good days racing to finish third in race one and fourth in race two. Rossendale riders took the top three positions with the overall win going to young Matt Williamson, Ryan Crowder in second and Sam Entwistle taking home the third place trophy. MX 1 experts saw
Lee Buck and Aaron Crowder sitting side by side on the start gate. Aaron was the one with the hole shot in race one with Lee not far behind. Aaron remained in first place crossing the finish line to take the win. Lee raced well and remained in second until the last lap; unfortunately a mistake he lost a place to take the chequered flag in third place. Race two for Aaron was a carbon copy of his first race as he led the field from start gate to chequered flag. Although Lee did not get the best of starts in his second and last race of the day, he raced well to finish in fourth position. Aaron Crowder took the overall win with Michael Smith in second, Michael Hand in third and Lee Buck with the overall fourth place.
Next weekend the Rocket Centre will be hosting its annual family open day, the Purple Helmets will be amongst the many attractions along with live music, a charity auction and raffle, not to mention the BBQ for when you feel peckish will ensure there will be something for everyone.
