AMCA 13-6-10 Blackpool
This week’s ring came courtesy of Blackpool MX club, the weather had been dry all week but water tankers were on hand to ensure the dusk was kept to a minimum. But what a difference a few hours makes as the rain made an appearance just in time for the last block of racing.
Experts unlimited were first to start the days racing and with MX1 and MX2 classes racing together this was always going to be a race worth watching. The positions for this class were not split but the riders received the correct point for their classes at the end of the days racing. Lee Buck enjoyed a good days racing finishing third in race one, but after going for a slide under the ropes in race two Lee dropped down the field to finish just outside of the top ten. Race three proved very difficult for all riders as the rain turned the track into a bit of a skating rink due to the typical British weather, but Lee’s experience showed as he passed the chequered flag in fourth place to finish in overall fourth position. The overall winner for the MX1 class was Michael Smith with Chris Saunders in second and Scott Wesley taking home the third place trophy. Following a good start in race one Sam Entwistle had an off hurting his knee dropping him from fourth to just outside the top ten. Sam made up for it in races two and three with 5th and 6th position. Sam took the overall fourth place for the MX 2 class. The winner of the MX2 class was young Gareth Harvey from the Rossendale club, with Anthony Astley in second and Joe Biggs with the overall third place.
