This weeks racing was courtesy of Lancaster mx club at Mills Moto Park Haverigg, the club had worked hard on the track which more than made up for the trip up there. The Rocket centre had two riders competing at this event Rob Clitheroe and Joe Entwistle.
The mx1 experts was the race that everyone in the paddock was talking about as Rob once again wowed the crowds with his skilful riding. Race one saw Rob take control of the race from the first lap to take the chequered flag with a commanding lead. But race two was the one that thrilled the crowds as Rob and Aaron Crowder raced wheel to wheel before Rob made an unbelievable pass to take the lead and the race win. Robs third and final race seemed to be a carbon copy of the first as he was first past the chequered flag to take the overall win with maximum points. Aaron Crowder took the overall second place with Paul Coward in third, Keith Barnes in fourth and Michael Bradshaw took home the the fifth place trophy.
In the mx2 experts Rob decided to ride in just the first race, which he won with ease. Although he only rode in one race this didn't stop him from picking up the fourth place trophy! The overall race win went to Shaun Scrivens, Ryan Crowder in second, Gary Ashcroft in third, Rocket rider Rob in fourth and Jak Cooper taking the overall fifth place.
Young Joe represented the Rocket team in the mx2 seniors, he had a brilliant start to race one with Joe in third place before a mistake cost him his race position as he finished just outside of the top ten. After the start gate developed a fault in the second block, the racing was started with a flag, this didn't suit Joe as he was last out of the start gate in his second race, he quickly made his way through the pack to finish in sixth position. Race three saw Joe once again make his way from the back of the pack to fifth position but as he made a challenged for fourth place Joe dropped it on the bend to finish the race in tenth place. Jake Gowan took the overall win with Ben Singleton in second, Andrew Noakley in third, Paul Pickup in fourth and Rory Preston taking home the fifth place trophy.
Next weeks racing takes place at Brogden Hall Farm as Ashton Vale hold their second race meeting of the season, camping is allowed but please be on site by 9pm. The Rocket Centre spares van will be on site for you to purchase any parts or produces you may need and if you would like us to take any thing to this meeting please contact the off road department before Saturday and we will do our best to bring it along with us. We hope to have a full complement of riders competing at this event, so why not come down to Brogden Hall this week-end, the weather is predicted to be good and I know you won't be disappointed with the racing!
